ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Mikaela Shadwell, and I am from a small town in New Jersey. Growing up I was always a very individualistic, and busy child. I love to get involved in everything and anything. For this very reason, during high school I was a member of 12 different clubs and activities. These included National Honors Society, National Technical Honors Society, National Society of High School Scholars, SkillsUSA, Girl Scouts, Bowling Team, and Marching Band just to name a few. In my free time I love to listen to music, play my instrument, go hiking, go ice skating, and draw; which you can see some of the artwork that I have done under my portfolio tab.

All my life I have always aimed to do my best in everything that I do, and to accomplish as many things as I can. Through Girl Scouts I have received my Bronze Award, Silver Award, and am currently working on receiving my Gold Award. I was a national competitor for SkillsUSA, and a four time state medalist, once in Technological Display, and three times in Chapter Display. I was captain of the girls bowling team, and have received six medals, and four trophies just by being a part of the school team. In addition to the medals and trophies I have received the most improved award, coaches award, most valuable player award, four varsity letters, and was scholar athlete of the month all for this sport. During the last month of my high school career I got the honor to be chosen as trans-options student of the month, and was given the opportunity to be on the radio. Upon graduation I graduated with 3 honors cords, 7 varsity letters, and numerous accomplishments all of which I couldn’t be more proud of.

High school was fun, a lot was accomplished, but it doesn’t stop there. Currently I am a freshmen enrolled at High Point University majoring in Criminal Justice and Political Science on the pre-law tract. Ever since I entered high school one of my biggest dreams was to become a lawyer in my future which is why I’m majoring in Criminal Justice and Political Science. I’m also a Psychology minor. I have a lot of interests, and I’m excited to see where they bring me in my future. In addition to continuing my education I also decided to get involved in the school community through clubs and activities. For that reason, I’m a member of the Rowing Team, Teddy Roosevelt Club of Excellence, Homefront Hugs Club, Band, and Habitats for Humanity. By pursuing my career and staying involved I believe it will lead me to where I’m meant to be. What lies ahead of me in my future is a mystery, but I couldn’t be more excited to pursue the numerous opportunities that arise.
